What the fee may not include

Passport photos, police records, courier delivery, travel to the mission, airline changes, visa replacement, and outside-hours service can be separate.

Ask for the full payable amount, accepted payment method, and whether the fee is refundable if the document is not issued.

Mission fees and central fees

An embassy may publish a local-currency fee that differs from a domestic passport-office amount. Exchange rates and consular schedules can change.

Avoid paying the wrong route

Start from the passport office, foreign ministry, embassy, or consulate website. Do not pay a third party to report or replace the passport.

Confirm the document name. A full emergency passport, one-way certificate, temporary passport, and laissez-passer can have different fees and travel rights.

Common questions

Is an emergency passport always more expensive?

No. Document types and fee rules differ by issuer.

Can I use another embassy's fee?

No. Use the schedule of the office handling the case.

Is the police report included?

Usually it is a separate local process. Check the relevant authority.

Does paying guarantee issue?

No. Identity, nationality, urgency, and route checks still apply.
