France's foreign ministry advises foreign travellers to contact their embassy for replacement travel documents after a loss 2.
Contact Canadian consular services
Contact the Embassy of Canada in France and describe your location, departure date, available identity and citizenship evidence, and the French report.
Prepare the application, photos, guarantor or references if requested, passport copy, identity evidence, and itinerary. The office can request further checks.
Urgent documents and fees
Canada publishes fees for temporary passports, emergency travel documents, and urgent services outside Canada 3. The office decides which document is available for the case.
Ask for the full fee, payment route, collection time, validity, and journey limits before changing travel.
If it is recovered
Do not use the passport after reporting it. Canada says a reported document is no longer valid and must be returned as directed 1.
Keep the French report and Canadian case reference until the replacement and any visa records are complete.
