If you are at home
Report the loss to police and apply through a Zimbabwe passport office. Bring your long birth certificate, national identity card if aged 16 or older, photos, and any copy or details of the missing passport 1.
The London embassy lists the Zimbabwe processing fees as US$170 for ordinary processing up to 21 working days and US$270 for processing up to 48 hours. It warns that fees and times can change 1. Confirm them with the passport office before payment.
If you are abroad
Report the loss to local police and contact the nearest Zimbabwean embassy. The London embassy requires at least one original Zimbabwean identity document to begin a passport application 1.
London stamps the application and charges a £65 administration fee, but processing and the processing-fee payment take place in Zimbabwe. An applicant can authorise a relative in Zimbabwe to submit and collect the application 1. Other missions may use different arrangements.
Emergency travel document
The London embassy issues a one-way Temporary Travel Document. It requires at least one photo ID, an original Zimbabwean birth certificate, national identity card, biometric card, or driving licence, two photos, and the £80 fee 2.
A holder must obtain a passport before returning to the United Kingdom. The embassy tells travellers to ask the airline whether the document is accepted for transit 2. Confirm the route with every transit authority.
Replacement fees and forms
London lists a £65 embassy administration fee. The processing fee paid in Zimbabwe is US$170 for ordinary service or US$270 for service up to 48 hours 1.
The completed file includes the stamped P1 form, certified identity records, stamped photos, embassy receipt, and any nominee authority letter. Fees and processing times may change, so use the amount confirmed for the application 1.
If you find your passport later
Do not travel on it after making the loss report. Give it to the Civil Registry or the embassy handling the replacement. The London embassy requires a still-valid old passport to be cancelled before a new one is collected 1.
